Slovenský zväz ľadového hokeja (Slovak Ice Hockey Federation) is an umbrella organization in to manage and support organized hockey in Slovakia, from signing marketing contracts to organizing matches to keeping statistics and information on Slovak hockey clubs and players. It manages actual or archived 200 hockey clubs, over 1000 referees, 3000 coaches and over 30 000 hockey players.

The requirements of the project are diverse. Slovak Ice Hockey Federation runs a news and stastics web page. It keeps personal information on all Slovak hockey players, referees, coaches, clubs, comissions as well as statistical information - detailed statistics on every match. It needs to be able to manage both personal information and statistics. The solution requires a directory, a complex statistical system with on-line publication and rich export possibilities, different graphical user interfaces for webmasters, clubs, referees and statistical specialists.

Solution


The data model is designed to incorporate a standard directory - personal information, organizations information, statistics, match results and scores. Advanced journalling is employed to keep the time dimension of the data and track all changes. Furthermore, the client requires a complex rights management system, that is why a very advanced Access Control Lists


Technology was implemented in Cyclone3.

The solution is currently being developed. Standard content applications on the web page featuring video. A complex information system based on Cyclone3 Framework and  XULadmin. The GUI acts as a self-standing proprietary add-on to XULadmin, but many of the rich features are being implemented into XULadmin directly, apart from the IHIS add-on itself, these include:

  • a sophisticated addon management system
  • custom widgets: intelligent search box, datetimepicker (a combination of datepicker and timepicker)
  • ACL graphical management
  • advanced listings
